BJP still in race for power in a hung house: MP Arvind
Contesting Assembly polls should be mandatory to vie for LS berth, says MP
Hyderabad: Dismissing the narrative being set by the BRS and the Congress that the BJP had been rendered irrelevant in the Telangana state Assembly elections as “wishful thinking” and a “fantasy,” Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind said on Saturday that every single political leader, pollster and analyst would be surprised and shocked on December 3 when the results are declared.
There would be no government in Telangana that does not involve the BJP, Arvind said but refused to elaborate on whose side his party would take after the polls.
“The party high command will take a call based on the numbers and the scenario but the promise of an OBC community leader as Chief Minister would be fulfilled,” he said.
When quizzed further on the rationale that the BJP could only support, or take the support of the BRS, since it could not possibly have any alliance with the Congress or the MIM, Arvind said, “The results would be incredible and the possibilities that would arise would be mindboggling.”
Speaking of his own party, and what it would do to bolster the sagging morale of its cadres and dwindling fortunes, he said, “I personally feel that the BJP should field all its big guns and leaders. Anyone who wants to be considered for the Lok Sabha should first contest in the Assembly elections. That is essential to ensure that we win a substantial number of seats.”
Speaking on the key thrust of the BJP campaign, he said, “We will fight against corruption and dynasty rule. We will bring a government that will be responsible, transparent, efficient and fulfil the aspirations of all sections of people.”
