Dissidence in BJP and BRS in several assembly constituencies

Update: 2023-10-28 10:08 GMT

Adilabad: Dissidence is a serious worry for the BRS in Mudhole, as also for the BJP in Khanapur and Bellampalli assembly constituencies in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Dissidents say they might not support their party candidates.

Bhukya Janaki is upset as she was denied the BJP ticket, which went to former Adilabad MP Rathod Ramesh. Janaki has threatened to quit the party.

Some BRS ZPTC and Sarpanches have joined the BJP opposing Vittal Reddy’s leadership and lack of development in Mudhole.

On the other hand, senior BJP leader Koyyada Emaji and his supporters staged a rasta roko at Somagudem opposing the party’s offer of ticket to newly joined A Sridevi in Bellampalli.

Emaji questioned how the party could give the ticket to Sridevi, who recently joined the party, while ignoring a senior leader like him, who “developed the party from the grassroots level in Bellampalli.”

Emaji was a candidate in the last elections but was defeated by BRS candidate Durgam Chinniah.

Mudhole BRS leaders opposed the leadership of Vittal Reddy and demanded a change of his candidature.

Senior BRS leaders including Bhainsa market committee chairman Rajesh Babu, Bhainsa and Basar ZPTCs Solanki Dipa and Vasantha Ramesh, Basar MPP Sunitha Vishwanath Patel and former ZPTCs and Sarpanches joined the BJP in the presence of state president Kishan Reddy.

BJP announced a party ticket to Ramarao Patel in Mudhole and the resigned BRS leaders who joined the BJP under Ramarao Patel’s leadership.

Adilabad BJP’s senior leader Suhasini Reddy was disappointed over denial of party ticket and she is keeping herself off the Adilabad assembly constituency.

Koyyala Emaji told Deccan Chronicle that the party's high command must cancel the candidature of Sridevi and announce him as the candidate from Bellampalli in view of his seniority and contributions to the party.
