BENGALURU: Issuing a warning for the second time to his legislators after taking a serious view of statements being made by its legislators and leaders on party matters, president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday said “It will become inevitable to serve notice on leaders disclosing party matters.”

Continuing, he said, “I appeal and also request leaders, let it be anybody, not to speak to the mediapersons on matters pertaining to party and power which would prompt me to serve notice on them.”

Shivakumar was reacting to a statement by its MLA Ravi Ganiga on Friday in Davangere wherein he disclosed to reporters that a team belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party is busy luring Congress MLAs to its side.

Earlier, the KPCC Chief had asked its leaders not to speak on matters related to the party and the Government in public and to discuss any matters with him or the Chief Minister and the warning came after its leader Ashok Pattan had stated to the media persons that a cabinet reshuffle was on the cards.

In the past, Ministers-H.C. Mahadevappa and M.B. Patil, had spoken on continuance of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the post. Minister for Cooperation Rajanna had stated to the media demanding creation of three Deputy Chief Minister’s posts instead of one.

Asked about the efforts to lure Congress MLAs, DyCM Shivakumar said some big names are at work and hatching a conspiracy against the Congress ruled State Government and exuded confidence that the efforts to lure Congress MLAs would go in vain.
