New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday said the Congress-led Karnataka government’s advertisements in Telangana violated the model code of conduct (MCC). It said had received complaints from the BRS and the BJP that the advertisements gave giving details of welfare schemes and achievements of the Congress government in the neighbouring state.
The ECI said that it has given no permission to the Karnataka government to issue such advertisements and that it was in violation of the MCC. The ECI has directed Siddaramaiah government to immediately such advertisements.
