Naidu Accuses YSRC of Exploiting Employment Guarantee Scheme for Personal Gain
TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the ruling YSRC leaders of turning the employment guarantee scheme into a lucrative venture for personal gains.
He was addressing a public meeting in Gudupalli on Thursday, the first day of his three-day visit to his assembly segment of Kuppam on Thursday.
Naidu alleged that the YSRC leaders and workers were drawing cash from bills without doing the required works under the employment guarantee scheme. He vowed to recover these “misappropriated funds” “immediately after the TD forms the next government.”
While highlighting the completion of the Handri-Neeva project from Srisailam to Ramakuppam during his tenure as CM, Naidu criticised present chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for not taking any step in the past five years to complete the project. “I would do this within a year after the TD forms the next government.”
Naidu called upon the voters to strive for a TD victory in Kuppam with a one lakh majority. He cited the significance of Kuppam in his political journey and noted that the people of the region have been blessing him for the past 35 years.
"Kuppam is my native place and Gudipalli is like my heart. In all these
elections, TD has received 95 per cent of the polled votes from Gudipalli. This is why I am confident of winning the 2024 polls with a one-lakh majority," Naidu explained.
Expressing his indignation at the current state of affairs under the YSRC government, the former chief minister expressed his concern over the “rise in rowdyism and increasing atrocities” in the once peaceful Kuppam.
He pledged to “bring democracy back” to the Kuppam segment and urged the police to uphold democratic values.
Highlighting the developmental works undertaken during the TD's tenure, Naidu questioned whether the YSRC had initiated any project. Promising to boost the dairy industry in Kuppam, he pledged to implement the "Super Six" initiative and assured women that he would give them a Rs 15,000 financial assistance under the Maha Lakshmi scheme.
He highlighted the “failures” of the YSRC government, questioning whether promised initiatives like the job calendar and the DSC were ever implemented.
Naidu expressed dismay at the “exodus” of industries from the state. He asserted that the countdown for the YSRC has begun.
