Hyderabad: Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s daughter and BJP leader Daggubati Purandeswari has confirmed that she has no plans of joining another party.

Soon after her husband Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and son Hitesh Chenchu Ram met YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday, rumours were spreading in the political circles that Ms Purandeswari would also join the YSRC soon.

Ms Purandeswari told media persons on Monday: “I will contest as a BJP candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. I am not ready to move to any other political party. I will contest from anywhere in the state as per the orders of the BJP high command.”

It may be recalled that Mr Daggubati Venkateswara Rao has informed the media persons that he would join the YSRC soon along with his son. Ms Purandeswari had contested as a BJP candidate from the Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency in Kadapa district during the 2014 elections, but was defeated by YSRC MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy.
