Election Commission orders probe into forging CEO's voter ID

Hyderabad: The Election Commission has approached the Central Crime Station, Hyderabad, on Monday seeking an investigation into the incident where the names of chief electoral officer of Telangana state Rajat Kumar and retired chief election commissioner of India Om Prakash Rawat appeared in the voters’ list in Nampally Assembly constituency. 

Congress leader Feroz Khan recently released documents that showed that the duo had votes in Nampally constituency. The CEO directed the district electoral officer to investigate, who in turn found that the names were registered using forged documents and instructed the electoral registration officer to file a case. The case is filed under section 419, 465, and 471 of IPC, Section 31 of the RP Act 1950 and 66D of IT Act.
