PMK asks EC to probe into Vaiko allegations

Chennai: PMK president G.K. Mani on Monday wrote to chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni seeking enquiry into the allegation of bargaining made by DMK to rope in DMDK in its alliance.
In a letter to CEO, Mr Mani pointed out that MDMK general secretary Mr Vaiko had alleged that DMK had offered Rs 500 crore and 80 seats to rope in Mr Vijayakanth’s DMDK, but the DMDK rejected the offer and joined the People’s Welfare Alliance (PWA).
Mr Mani sought an enquiry on the allegations against DMK president M. Karunanidhi , party treasurer M.K. Stalin, Mr Vijayakanth and Mr Vaiko for the offences committed by them under Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and suitable action should be taken as per law at the earliest.
