3Ws will help Telugu Desam win: Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy
TD will win 10 Assembly seats, 2 MP seats in Kadapa and Rajampeta.
KADAPA: Works, water and welfare are the three Ws that will lead to the grand victory of Telugu Desam, the district president of the TD Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy (Vasu) expressed his confident opinion.
While speaking to this news paper on Thursday at Kamalapuram he said, “No one in the district is unhappy, each family is benefited by the welfare schemes implemented by the state government.
People are constantly monitoring the development in the district. The government has given water to Pulivendula and after that we have observed the change in the voter’s pulse. For decades together YS family had ruled Kadapa district, where they neglected development. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is very keen about Kadapa, he had sanctioned crores of rupees for the development activities.”
Mr Reddy then explai-ned the three Ws. First W is works. the state government has made several developmental initiatives in the district, he said. Each village has got CC roads, for the interest of Muslims, a Haj House was built in Kadapa with Rs 27 crore. There were two flyovers being built, where work was still in progress at the Rayachoti Road and Kamalapuram railway crossing in Kadapa.
Thousands of houses were constructed under ‘NTR Housing’ scheme for the poor in rural and urban areas, he explai-ned. “We have concentra-ted on supplying enough water for urban living. We have also undertaken to get agriculture bore wells on rental basis and supplying water to the remotest areas of the town through tankers,” he said.
He further added, “We built sub surface dams with new technology on the river Papagni. This has resulted in 6000 acres of new ayacut in 8 mandals. This was a major development. The Centr-al government is not interested in building a steel plant in Kadapa, but the state government has taken up the job and responsibility and has also laid the foundation stone. The government has assigned land to Rayalaseema Steel Corp-oration Limited and the plant will be built with an initial capital of Rs 20,000 crore. 10,000 people are expected to be employed by the steel factory.”
The second W is water. Mr Srinivasa Reddy confidently said, “It is the most important factor that will lead to the defeat of YSRC chief Mr Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in Pulivendula. It is the most valued development in Rayalaseema, and sho-ws the TD government in a positive light. The TD government has undertaken a drastic decision that it would complete Gandikota reservoir in a short span of time. The irrigation minister D. Uma Maheswara Rao and all the irrigation department officers are extrem-ely committed to their services and have completed the work in time.”
The government has paid Rs 800 crore compens-ation to the major irrigation project Gandikota’s displaced persons for rehabilitation. When the reservoir is completed, the water would be stored there and the merging villagers will be shifted to the rehabilitation colonies.”
After the completion of Pattisemma, Godavari water to the extent of 90 TMC ft would be lifted to Krishna delta and the surplus water form Sris-ailam reservoir would be diverted to Rayalaseema, particularly Kadapa district that has got 40 TMC feet water to Gandikota, Chitravathi, Pydipalem, Vamikonda, sarvaraya sagar and Brahmasagar.
The Lingala lift irrigation project was completed on a war footing and water was supplied to Pulivendula citrus and banana farmers. A long time back, the farmers spent lakhs of rupees to ensure the survival of the citrus plants. But for the last two and half years no farmer from Pulivendula has spent even a single rupee for water, Mr Reddy said. This was part of major development executed by the state government.
The third W is welfare activities implemented by the state government, he said. Chandranna Beema, Pasupu-Kumkum to DWACRA group members, farmers’ loan waving, NTR Bharosa pensions to all people, Anna Canteens for the poor, corporate style of medical aid, Chief Minister's relief fund for the poor patients, Mr Reddy said that all these were welfare activities undertaken by the state government.
“All these three Ws are the key factors for the TD victory; we have the confidence to win 10 Assemblies and both Kadapa and Rajampeta parliament seats,” he said.
