Burnt transformer behind power crisis: Amit Shah
The state government has failed miserably in all fields, he said.
Tikota (Vijayapura dist): BJP national president Amit Shah described Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as a “burnt transformer” and said that though the Centre is producing enough power to meet the state's requirements, the “burnt transformer” Siddaramaiah is not allowing the state to utilise it effectively. He urged the people to throw the defunct transformer out of power for better governance.
Addressing a rally at Tikota, near Vijayapura on Saturday, Mr Shah mocked Mr Siddaramaiah as “sleeping Chief Minister” and asked the people whether the state can develop under such a CM.
“Mr Siddaramaiah does not have the confidence to win from Chamundeshwari and has run to Badami constituency because of the fear of losing. Can such a leader ensure development,” he asked. “If voted to power, the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government will transform Karnataka into a number one state in the country,” he said.
Accusing the Siddaramaiah government of failing to arrest even a single accused in the murders of 24 RSS workers in the state, he said, “Every accused in these murders will be sent behind bars if the BJP is voted to power. The Congress government has not taken the killings of RSS workers seriously and failed to catch the culprits.”
But, the Siddaramaiah government achieved number one position when it comes to farmer suicides, murders, rapes and atrocities on Dalits. The state government has failed miserably in all fields, he said.
Referring to AICC president Rahul Gandhi as “Rahul Baba”, he said the Congress leader does not have any knowledge of funds released by the Centre to the state. “The 13th Finance Commission during the UPA government released Rs 88,000 crore to the state, while the 14th Finanance Commission under the Narendra Modi government has released a whopping Rs 2.19 lakh crore,'' he said.
Stating that the BJP has won assembly elections in 14 states after Mr Modi came to power, he exuded confidence that Karnataka will be the 15th.
