Publish list of corrupt MLAs: Raghunandan asks KCR
HYDERABAD: BJP MLA M. Raghunandan Rao on Friday demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao make the names of the “corrupt BRS MLAs” who were extorting up to Rs 3 lakh from beneficiaries of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
He appealed to Telangana High Court and the Anti-Corruption Bureau to take suo motu cognisance of the CM's remarks and initiate a probe into the issue of corruption among BRS MLAs.
BJP MLA Etala Rajendar demanded that the CM dismiss the corrupt BRS MLAs, and ensure that they returned money to the beneficiaries.
Addressing media persons at the BJP state office here, Raghunandan Rao said that the comments made by CM were of a grave nature and they needed to be thoroughly probed.
"When KCR took over as CM in June 2014, in his very first speech in the Legislative Assembly, he declared that he will not spare anyone including his son and daughter if they indulge in corruption and that he will send them to jail," Raghundan Rao recalled.
“Now the same CM says, he has the list of his party MLAs who indulged in corruption and extorted money from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries. The CM should stick to his stand on corruption, initiate the probe against them and send them to jail," he said.
Reminding that the CM had constituted an SIT (special investigation team) to probe the issue of reported attempts by alleged BJP agents to purchase BRS MLAs, Raghunandan Rao said, "The CM should set up SIT to probe corruption of BRS MLAs for extending Dalit Bandhu. The ACB should also send notices to CM and MLAs in this case and call them for inquiry."
Speaking to media persons in Huzurabad, Rajendar said, "The CM himself revealed that BRS MLAs extorted money to extend Dalit Bandhu to beneficiaries. It's not the allegation made by Opposition parties. The CM should dismiss those MLAs immediately from the party and take steps to return the money to beneficiaries."
