THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM veteran leader V S Achuthanandan declined to react on the controversial note issue that had led to a major controversy last week. When asked about the note, the veteran leader said;"let me understand what CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury had stated.  He was replying to questions from the media persons at Alwaye.

The veteran leader was caught on camera handing over a note to Yechury which mentioned posts like advisor to the State Government with Cabinet rank, chairman LDF and induction into the state secretariat. Initially, there were reports that Yechury had handed over the note to Achuthanandan.

However, later the general secretary had himself clarified that he had received the note from the veteran leader. At the swearing in ceremony a personal staff was seen handing over the note to Achuthanandan. The veteran leader who was sitting beside Yechury glanced through the note which mentioned about the proposed positions. After the ceremony, he was seen slipping the note into Yechury’s pocket.

The CPM politburo meeting schedule to take place in Delhi on Sunday will discuss the issue concerning position to be given to Achuthanandan. The central leadership has already made it clear that the decision on granting Cabinet post to Achuthanandan will have to be taken by the state government level. Meanwhile, on the controversy related to Advisor post to Achuthanandan, the chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters in Delhi said he was not averse to having advisors.
