JD(S) corporators raise MLA Munirathna issue
Ms Padmavathi said that interests of women corporators in the Rajarajeshwarinagar Assembly constituency will be protected.
Bengaluru: JD(S) leaders registered their displeasure and alleged that they were not taken into confidence while taking major decisions, at the maiden coordination committee meeting convened by Mayor G. Padmavathi on Wednesday.
MLC T.A. Sharavana highlighted how women corporator Manjula Narayanaswamy from Laggere ward was treated by Rajarajeshwarinagar MLA Munirathna, who represents Congress. Ms Padmavathi said that interests of women corporators in the Rajarajeshwarinagar Assembly constituency will be protected and their problems would be solved. She said that the monthly meeting, which is primarily to hear grievances and solve problems, should not be marred because of differences between MLAs and corporators. She urged the coalition partners not to spoil the monthly meeting as it is essential to discuss monsoon-related problems as the rains have set in. Three women corporators under the Rajarajeshwainagar Assembly constituency came down heavily against the officials.
