Jagan ‘star of all castes’, says Roja
Roja said in the YSR Kapu Nestham third instalment, Rs 32.58 crore was distributed to 21,720 beneficiaries in the district
VIJAYAWADA: Tourism minister R.K. Roja claimed that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government was working for the development of all sections of the society and the YSRCP government was the first government to implement welfare schemes to the Kapu community.
She said Chandrababu Naidu’s frustration reached its peak with Jagan Mohan Reddy getting enormous support from the public. She alleged Naidu did nothing for Kapus during his regime but harassed them by registering false cases, resorting to police lathi charges and insults.
Addressing the gathering after launching ‘YSR Kapu Nestham’ organised by the District Backward Classes Welfare Department at Avanigadda under the chairmanship of Avanigadda legislator Simhadri Ramesh Babu, Roja said Jagan Mohan Reddy was credited with bringing a special scheme for upper castes for the first time in the country.
Responding to allegations that Jagan was not coming to the public, she said people were according hearty welcome to Jagan whenever he came to the people and Naidu and other leaders found it hard to digest.
Roja, who is also Krishna district In-charge minister, said in the YSR Kapu Nestham third instalment, Rs 32.58 crore was distributed to 21,720 beneficiaries in the district. She congratulated the Chief Minister Jagan for bringing a special scheme for the upper castes in the country for the first time and providing them with security and employment opportunities. She said according to the welfare calendar, the financial assistance was directly deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries. She said while the previous government spent only 400 crore for the welfare of Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari castes, Jagan provided Rs 32,296 crore under various schemes in one year. He termed Jagan as the ‘ ‘star of any caste’.
District collector Ranjith Basha said 65,616 people benefited from Rs 98.43 crore Kapu Nestam scheme in Krishna district in the last three phases.
