Purandeswari demands white paper on housing projects in AP
VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari on Friday demanded that YSRC government release a white paper on housing projects in AP.
Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam for the first time after becoming president of BJP’s AP unit, she underlined that the central government has given 1.57 lakh houses to beneficiaries in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh. However, two days ago, an AP minister said only 21,000 houses are being constructed, she underlined.
In this context, Purandeswari said the centre has been providing all kinds of support to the state, but YSRC is spreading bad propaganda against the union government.
She pointed out that the central government has so far officially sanctioned ₹2,39,000 crore in lump sum to AP. But considering funds that come to the state through various means, the centre has granted ₹4,74,000 crores to Andhra Pradesh. The YSRC government also took loans with total debt rising to ₹10,77,006 crore.
“Yet, the government is not developing infrastructure projects in the state,” the state BJP president pointed out.
She maintained that the centre is committed to the Kothavalasa railway doubling, and Vizianagaram, Kuneru and Odisha third line. Further, six-lane roads and educational institutions are in the pipeline. The Centre is ready to provide all support to AP, she stated.
Purandeswari alleged that the land mafia is operating in a big way in Vizag by showing local lands as dotted lands. She also spoke about Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanti project and questioned why the YSRC government is not paying attention to it.
On the privatisation of RINL, she said, “The welfare of steel plant employees is our responsibility. We are going to find an amicable solution for the Vizag steel plant.”
