MK Stalin demands CBI probe into medical admissions in TN
About 900 students had been selected for admissions into the government quota of private medical colleges by producing dual nativity certificates.
Chennai: DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Monday demanded a CBI enquiry into the selection of students for medical admission in TN following allegations of using dual nativity certificates against some of the students from other states.
Comparing it to the ‘Vyapam scam’ in Madhya Pradesh, Stalin said it was shocking that students from other states had been selected for admissions into government medical colleges by producing dual nativity certificates.
Many irregularities had been found in the merit list released by the health department, he said and the selection committee members and health secretary did not pay sufficient attention to preparation of the list. About 900 students had been selected for admissions into the government quota of private medical colleges by producing dual nativity certificates, he said and asked if pressure was exerted on the selection panel to select such students.
