Saffron brigade ready to accept MK Stalin's challenge: BJP national secretary H Raja
In another tweet, Mr. Raja said, I am prepared. We will show the saffron strength on Sept.2 at our agitation at Valluvar Kottam.
Chennai: BJP national secretary H. Raja took up the gauntlet saying the saffron brigade is ready to face DMK president M. K. Stalin’s challenge of “teaching a lesson to the BJP government at the Centre.”
Responding to Mr. Stalin’s maiden speech as president of the Dravidian major on Tuesday, Mr. Raja took to twitter and while politely greeting him upon his elevation, remarked that the BJP was ready to face his challenge.
“My greetings to Mr. Stalin for taking up the reins of the DMK as its president. We, the saffron brigade of Modi is ready to face his challenge. Let’s see.”
In another tweet, Mr. Raja said, “I am prepared. We will show the saffron strength on Sept.2 at our agitation at Valluvar Kottam.”
“Let’s not forget what brother Alagiri (Mr. Stalin’s elder brother) said: so long as black shirts and black shawls are with them, they can never win.”
Meanwhile, party senior and MP Subramanian Swamy tweeted, “My congrats to MK Stalin. I wish him the best future. I have nothing against him. Ideologically we are still far apart. But his father’s sins cannot visit on him.”
While addressing his party men Mr. Stalin had said, the political situation has come as a grave challenge and remarked, “the Narendra Modi government is trying to paint the nation in saffron colour. Let's teach a lesson to the Modi government.”
Taking strong exception, Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said the BJP can never be defeated, no matter how many parties come together.
“Stalin could have targeted the BJP as he had to utter something after taking over as party president,” Mr. Radhakrishnan added.
