HYDERABAD: Tarun Chugh, BJP general secretary and in-charge of Telangana, on Sunday condemned the “autocratic attitude” of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who, he alleged, has thrown all democratic norms to the winds.

“His anti-democratic and fascist nature came to the fore when he tried to disrupt the proposed public meeting of BJP national president J.P. Nadda in Warangal on Saturday,” Chugh said.

That the meeting was held at the intervention of the High Court is a different story altogether but it does expose Rao’s devious methods to stifle opposition voices, he said.

The success of the public meeting and the rapt attention with which people heard the speakers reflect the intensity of hatred they have against the state government and Rao, Chugh said.

"It reminds us of the times of the last Nizam, who was eventually thrown out for his autocratic behaviour," Chugh.
