Tirupati: The political landscape in Nagari, a constituency represented by tourism minister R.K. Roja has been roiled in internal conflicts. The actress-turned-politician and two-time MLA is reportedly facing opposition and disunity from within her own ranks, as senior YSRC leaders from Nagari seem to be at loggerheads with her.

The internal fissures were out in the open on Monday when Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid a visit to the region to release Jagananna Vidya Deevena funds. He was keen on calling a truce between Roja and Nagari municipal chairperson K.J. Santhi. The two have a long-standing feud. However, despite the Chief Minister's efforts, prospects of unity appear fragile and superficial.

Party insiders reveal that many senior leaders in the constituency have opposed Roja's authority and the party's unity.

Reddivaari Chakrapani Reddy, chairman of Srisailam temple trust board, Santhi, Muralidhar Reddy, ZPTC member and KJ Kumar, former Nagari municipal chairman, along with a couple of other senior leaders, are all reportedly at odds with Roja.

Roja has accused a senior minister of orchestrating and encouraging the opposition against her.

In an attempt to reconcile the differences, the Chief Minister tried his best to bring Roja and Santhi together. However, both remained reluctant and refused to budge an inch.
