Nalin Kumar Kateel, Santhosh will finish off B S Yediyurappa in 2 months: Thimmapur
The Yediyurappa government would complete its tenure, and claimed that Mr Kateel and the Chief Minister had a good rapport: C C Patil.
Hubballi: Former Congress minister, R.B. Thimmapur predicted here on Saturday that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa would be “politically finished off” within the next two months by his rivals in the BJP.
Speaking to reporters in Bagalkot, he said the Chief Minister had become helpless in the hands of state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel and national general secretary, B L Santosh, who were “conspiring” against him.
Claiming that both leaders were trying to curtail his powers, he contended that the BJP would not give Mr Yediyurappa a ticket to contest the next Assembly elections.
“A few BJP leaders are calling the shots in the party and trying to keep power in their hands although they don’t have the blessing of the people. They have e appointed three deputy Chief Ministers to achieve their ulterior motives”, Mr Timmapur contended, adding that Mr Kateel had no knowledge about North Karnataka and the people there had not voted for the party because of him, but owing to Mr Yediyurappa, who was a Lingayat.
Lashing out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his failure to announce a compensation package for the flood-hit people of the state, he charged that the Chief Minister ad 25 BJP MPs did not have the courage to bring pressure on the Centre on the issue.
Responding to his comments, minister, C C Patil asserted that the Yediyurappa government would complete its tenure, and claimed that Mr Kateel and the Chief Minister had a good rapport.
“Instead of focusing on the BJP, opposition leaders should focus on resolving their internal bickering,” he said.
