TRS, BJP think alike, says Anand Sharma
Anand Sharma said that the BJP was not contesting seriously in Telangana state and it cannot retain its five seats.
Hyderabad: Former Union minister and Rajya Sabha deputy leader Anand Sharma said the TRS and BJP were birds of a feather flocking together. He said leaders of both parties were criticising each other as an election strategy.
He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had failed in providing Neellu, Nidhulu, Niyamakalu (water, funds and jobs)
Mr Sharma said Mr Rao had supported the BJP in the issues of demonetisation, President and Vice-President elections. He said with the demonetisation several people had lost their livelihood and people had to stand in long queues to get their money.
He said that Mr Rao till today had not said that he had made a mistake by supporting the wrong decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Sharma alleged under Mr Rao’s rule Telangana state stood first in crime and second place in illiteracy. He asked why the people should vote for the TRS only for giving 24-hour power supply. He said that Telangana state was formed to fulfill the aspirations of the people and the credit for statehood goes to the Congress and Mrs Sonia Gandhi. The TRS had no role on this, he said.
Mr Sharma asked the TRS and BJP where they had got the money that they were spending on electioneering. He asked why Mr Modi was not talking about black money during the election campaign or about creating two crore jobs.
He alleged that Mr Rao and Mr Modi were managing the media with money. He predicted that in the Telangana elections, which he said were the semi-finals for the 2019 general elections, the Congress victory was certain.
He said that the BJP was not contesting seriously in Telangana state and it cannot retain its five seats. He alleged that TRS and BJP had an internal agreement and in Lok Sabha elections Mr Rao would support Mr Modi. He alleged that “while Mr Modi is looting the country KCR is looting Telangana state.” Mr Sharma released a list of unfulfilled promises of the TRS government.
