Indiscriminate transfers hit teachers, students: Bhatti
Students had lost academic years due to Covid-19 pandemic and the present unrest among teachers was also affecting their studies
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government employees and teachers were adversely affected due to the fault of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government.
The GO MS No.317, issued by the state government, had badly affected the local teachers and forced them to work in non-local places, he said. Hasty decision of the government adversely affected around one lakh government teachers and education of the students.
Bhatti suggested that the government invite teachers’ union leaders for discussions on the issue. The Telangana state movement itself began to demand the right of people to live comfortably and with self respect, but unfortunately Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao forgot the local issue in teachers’ allotment, he said.
Students had lost academic years due to Covid-19 pandemic and the present unrest among teachers was also affecting their studies, he said. The CLP leader alleged that the government had encouraged irregularities in teachers’ transfers.
Meanwhile, Democratic Teachers’ Federation (DTF) state vice president Shanthan demanded that the state government scrap the controversial GO 317 immediately. The state government issued the GO against the Presidential orders and the local cadre, he said.
Despite the DSC merit list, the government should give priority for allotment of teachers in their native places, he said. Usually, during promotions or transfers, the government asked for appeals or objections about the seniority list, but now the government ignored all the rules, he criticised. “Teachers are in a panic due to irrational transfers,” he said.
