Probe Srinivas' death: Telangana Congress
They also denied any political connection and said the charges were false and fabricated'.
Hyderabad: State Congress leaders on Monday said they were not ready to believe the version of Nalgonda superintendent of police D.V. Srinivas Rao that Congress leader Boddupalli Srinivas was murdered over a dispute on putting up pushcart to sell mirchi bajjis.
They also denied any political connection and said the charges were ‘false and fabricated’.
The leaders, who accused Nakrekal TRS legislator V. Veresam of murder, changed tack on Monday and said they had information about the involvement of CM and the DGP in the murder.
They said that until the case was entrusted to the CBI for an “impartial probe” they would “not sit idle” and would move courts for the highest level of probe.
Senior Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy told mediapersons that the local police knew about the plan to murder Srinivas and that it was the handiwork of TRS leaders. He said the accused had threatened Srinivas 20 days before the incident.
They had placed big boulders before the murder which only showed that it was all pre-planned and not done in a fit of rage as claimed by the SP.
He alleged that TRS leaders and goons were now targeting Nakrekal former Congress MLA Chirumarthy Lingaiah and had started threatening him. He wondered why Nalgonda police were not releasing the call data details of Srinivas.
