Give security to all MLAs equally: YSRC

Hyderabad: YSR Congress MLA R. Siva Prasad Reddy said the government is discriminating against Opposition MLAs while providing security. Mr Prasad Reddy said he had 2+1 gunmen in the past and the government has now reduced it to 1+1, not to mention the gunmen are not provided with powerful weapons. He said that in the past his political opponent, former MLA N. Varadarajula Reddy, has attempted to murder him three times and the police has booked cases in different police stations. He requested the government that all MLAs should be given equal security.
BJP floor leader P. Vishnu Kumar Raju alleged that there was a scam of about Rs 360 crore in Brandix Company in Vizag. He said that about 18,000 employees are working at Brandix and at the time of notification the company had announced Rs 8,050 per month as salary for one category and Rs 7,420 per month for another category. He said but after making the appointments, the Company has reduced the salaries from Rs 8,050 to Rs 4,366 and Rs 7,420 to Rs 4,320.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that due to negligence in announcement of drought-affected mandals, the Centre has released only Rs 430 crore against the state government’s request of Rs 2,340 crore. He said the farmers in drought-affected mandals have not yet been given input subsidy till today. Questioning the state government’s claim on rising water table Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy asked “if this is true, why is that people are forced to walk several miles to fetch water in several districts?”’ Later he and his party MLAs staged a walkout from the Assembly protesting against the government’s attitude in tackling drought.
Former chief minister, late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy has issued a GO to this effect reducing the salaries in this company and asked the government to take action.
