Siddaramaiah: Will iron out issues with MPs
I don't want to comment on veteran Congress leader S.M. Krishna's visit to New Delhi, says Siddu.
Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was noncommittal on Friday when asked about former external affairs minister, S M Krishna’s recent visit to Delhi, which has set off murmurs in the party.
“I don't want to comment on this. Mr Krishna is a senior Congress leader. He keeps going to Delhi to meet the Congress high command. How can you (media) draw conclusions from that?” he demanded, speaking to reporters here. When pressed further on the purpose of Mr Krishna’s visit to Delhi , he retorted, “You please ask him and him only.”
As for some Congress MPs’ alleged displeasure over being ignored by him and his style of functioning , Mr Siddaramaiah said he planned to meet them soon. “It has been a long time since we met. We will hold a meeting with them shortly. We will talk to them,” he added.
He earlier held a closed door meeting with officials of the district administration before holding a “janata darshan” near his house. While some of the hundreds assembled, sought assistance from the Chief Minister’s relief fund for treatment or to conduct a loved one’s marriage, some wanted employment.
A former government employee, Premakumari, who made news when she accused former BJP minister, S A Ramdas of sexual violence and cheating, also met the Chief Minister appealing for protection for her and her family . She claimed the BJP leader was threatening her as the case she had filed against him was still pending in court. “I have not lost my confidence, I have faith in the law, ” she told reporters.
