Telugu Desam twisted Modi's 2014 election speech, says BJP
Gangaraju said that Naidu had planned the deeksha' to divert people's attention from the State Government's failures.
VIJAYAWADA: The BJP is desperate about its survival in the state ever since TD severed its ties with the NDA. Now the party has accused its former ally of distorting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election speech delivered in Tirupati in 2014.
BJP MP from Narsapur Gokaraju Gangaraju said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been trying to play with the sentiments of the people in Andhra Pradesh by playing the speech of Modi, delivered in Nellore, as the one done in Tirupati. When asked whether Modi had never promised or uttered about Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, during his visits to the state during the 2014 polls, the BJP MP said that the Prime Minister had said so at a Nellore election meeting and not at the meeting in Tirupati.
“ TD is trying to mislead the public by twisting facts and distorting Modi’s speech in Tirupati. Nowhere in his Tirupati speech, Modi had uttered about Special Category Status. He spoke about Special Category Status in his Nellore speech. But to their convenience, TD and Naidu has planned a ‘Deeksha’ in Tirupati. This is nothing but playing with the sentiments of the people,” Gangaraju told mediapersons.
He added that Naidu had failed in delivering all his poll promises, be it the waiver of Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) loans, farm loans, houses to poor, monthly stipend to unemployed etc .
He said that the State Government is fully corrupt. Gangaraju said that Naidu had planned the ‘deeksha’ to divert people’s attention from the State Government’s failures.
