HYDERABAD: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao requested the authorities to self-restrict on FSI (floor space index) and focus on the basics like parking, sewerage etc, adding that failing which, the state government will impose stricter rules.

With several skyscrapers in Hyderabad, the construction bodies must keep the FSI in mind pertaining to the basic necessities, said the minister. "It is my humble request to the builders in the city to keep water availability, parking facility, waste management and sewage management in mind during construction and planning. For their betterment, we are continuing with the unlimited FSI plan. However, if they do not plan properly by keeping the basic amenities in mind, the government will impose strict rules," he said.
