GT on delay: All 37 JD(S) MLAs want to be ministers
Denying that the Congress had placed any conditions for allotment of portfolios, he claimed such talk was mere speculaton.
Mysuru: Janata Dal (Secular) MLA G.T. Devegowda assured here on Tuesday that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would make an announcement on waiving off farm loans within a week.
“There is no question of doing a U -turn on the issue. Farmers should not resort to extreme steps. The Bharatiya Janata Party could have raised the issue during the assembly session instead of calling for a bandh,” he said, speaking to reporters here.
Denying that the Congress had placed any conditions for allotment of portfolios, he claimed such talk was mere speculaton.
“The Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress have come together for the sake of the state’s development and to save secularism. It is not easy to form a cabinet. There are 37 MLAs in the Janata Dal (Secular) and all want to become ministers, but this is not possible. Seniors in the party will decide on who has to be made minister. We do not want any conflicts later and so are taking our time deciding,” he maintained.
On his win against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari constituency, he said, “I said I would win by 25,000 votes, and now that I have won by a higher margin I am thankful to my voters.”
