Bhatti dares BRS for debate on pending projects
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka dared BRS leaders for a debate on the government’s failure to complete pending projects in the last 10 years.
Addressing a meeting at Kusumanchi in the Paleru Assembly constituency on Thursday, Bhatti Vikramarka wondered, “While 80 per cent of works on the Indira Rajiv Sagar project in Khammam was completed by the Congress government, why did the BRS government not complete the remaining 20 per cent work in about 10 years?”
In the name of project redesign, the cost was increased to Rs 25,000 crore but the government has failed to release water to even one acre, he said.
“I am ready for a debate on this subject. Do BRS rulers have the courage and conviction to come for a discussion?” he challenged.
Even in the Adilabad district, the ‘anti-farmer’ BRS government failed to dig canals for 63 tanks constructed by the Congress government, he said. It was similar in Khammam district where there have been no developmental activities.
Bhatti said that while the Congress government gave rights to tribals over forest lands, the BRS government had been conspiring to evict them from forests.
He alleged that Paleru MLA Kandala Upendra Reddy had mortgaged the votes of the people in the constituency to Rao only for the sake of protecting his contracts.
The CLP leader called upon people to attend the public meeting to be held at Khammam on July 2 to mark the conclusion of the people’s march padayatra.
