Hyderabad: Alleging that K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members amassed hundreds of acres of land after becoming Chief Minister, TPCC chief and MP A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said that Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to sell his properties while contesting as an MP and spend money on the development of Mahbubnagar but after being elected, he did not take up any development works for Palamuru.

Revanth was speaking at a programme when a few BRS party leaders from Mahbubnagar joined the Congress at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Sunday. Mahbubnagar former municipal chairman Radha Amar, former market committee chairman Amarender Raju, counsellor Ramadevi and other BRS party leaders joined the Congress party.

Speaking at the gathering, Revanth Reddy reminded that KCR promised to develop Mahbubnagar district by selling his properties while contesting from the district. "The family members of the Chief Minister amassed wealth and are in possession of hundreds acres of farm lands, but they neglected Mahbubnagar district in terms of development," the TPCC chief said.

He alleged that minister V Srinivas Goud was also indulged in land grabbing and did not even leave the Wakf Board lands in Mahbubnagar district. In Alampur constituency, the BRS leaders are running illegal business activities selling wines, mines and others, he alleged.

The TPCC chief called the cadre to elect Congress candidates from all the 14 seats in Mahbubnagar district. He promised that the Congress would finish the Ranga Reddy- Palamuru lift irrigation project and that it would also try to compensate the evacuees of the project.

Later, Revanth Reddy visited a private hospital in the city where Kodangal Congress party leader Channa Reddy was admitted following some health issues.
