Restore names of Chennai airport terminals: Vaiko
Vaiko also congratulated the gold medal won by Tamil Nadu\'s Ms. Elavenil Valarivan
CHENNAI: The MDMK leader Vaiko has written to the Union Civil Aviation minister, Mr. Hardeep Puri to take steps to restore the names given to the domestic and international terminals of the Chennai airport here.
In his letter, Vaiko said the domestic terminal of Chennai airport had been named after the former Chief Minister K Kamaraj and the international terminal after another former Chief Minister, 'Anna', as C N Annadurai was endearingly called.
But to have erased their names from the name-boards of the domestic and international terminals has hurt the sentiments of Tamils both within the country and outside and the Centre should restore the two names, he urged.
Mr. Vaiko also congratulated the gold medal won by Tamil Nadu's Ms. Elavenil Valarivan, who won the gold medal at the International Rifle competition in Rio in Brzail.
Meanwhile, Mr. Vaiko, who has returned home after being discharged from the Sri Ramchandra Hospital in Chennai, has been advised rest for some time.
