Naidu showers praises on PV, Modi at 76th ID programme in Guntur
Vishakapatnam : Former chief minister and Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu showered praises on the Congress and BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his 75th Independence Day speech in Guntur on Monday.
Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag on Chebrolu Hanumayya premises, Naidu opined that the country achieved the best economic development even in those days. Due to the leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, India has gone far ahead of other countries. However, poverty, farmer suicides and unemployment are still continuing in the country, he said.
“We have to look at the development of the country before and after Independence and before and after the introduction of economic reforms. With the reforms introduced by Narasimha Rao, India is competing with the whole world,” Naidu said.
Reminding that N.T. Rama Rao started the TD for the uplift of the downtrodden sections of the society, Naidu called upon them to take a leaf from the lives of those who fought for India's independence and worked unitedly for the progress of the country.
Reminding that the TD has formulated Vision-2020 and worked hard to achieve its goals for the state, Naidu said the party's sole aim is to work for the welfare of the common man by setting another goal of Vision 2047. A corruption-free society is essential and technology should be used to achieve this. He asked the leaders to frame the country's policies for the next 25 years for India.
