General-secretary of the employees union K. Raji Reddy accused the TRS government of luring Singareni voters by reminding them of the promises it had made during RTC union polls.

Hyderabad: The Telangana RTC Employees Union on Friday asked the Singareni workers asking them to utilise their right to vote to defeat the TRS-sponsored union in the union elections scheduled on October 5.

General-secretary of the employees union K. Raji Reddy accused the TRS government of luring Singareni voters by reminding them of the promises it had made during RTC union polls. “Earlier, the Chief Minister said that the RTC workers were his life and now he is repeating the same dialogue to woo Singareni workers. The honorary president of Singareni has been promised Rs 20 lakh compensation in cases of deaths in coal mines. What about the workers? Will they have to die for compensation?” Mr Raji Reddy asked.

He said that in the 2012 elections, the TRS had criticised the then governments stating that it made Singareni a burial ground with opencast mining. “Why has the TRS government allowed 13 opencast mines in the last three years? Why did the CM fail to fulfil his promise of a super-specialty hospital in Godavarikhani?” the RTC union leader asked.
