Congress sharpens strategy to win over 80 seats in TS Assembly polls
HYDERABAD: The TPCC strategy committee will submit a report to the party's high command on ways to sharpen its election strategy to enhance its vote share through the 'six guarantees' to win 75 to 80 seats.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the panel here on Friday, TPCC strategy committee chairman K. Prem Sagar Rao said that it was planning steps to take the information of the 'six guarantees' to the people more forcefully.
Rao said that the six guarantees were receiving an overwhelming response from the people. "The Mahalakshmi guarantee pertaining to women, such as monthly pensions of Rs2,500 per month, gas cylinder for Rs500, and free bus travel, has received a tremendous response. Women are eager to bring the Congress to power to avail of these benefits," he added.
He exuded confidence that the Congress would form government in December and implement the guarantees by March 2024.
The party has also laid focus on farmers, tenant farmers, and agriculture labourers for whom financial assistance will be extended as promised in the guarantees, he added.
The Congress guarantee to provide a 250-square yard plot for the construction of houses for the families of martyrs had ignited the spirit of Telangana agitation since the BRS government had failed to fulfill its promise of giving a government job and three-acre land to each martyrs family, he added.
