Chennai: VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan has announced that his party would stage a protest against BJP on November 3 at all district headquarters in the state for the “assault on his party members in Mayiladhuthurai on Friday”. However, he warned his party members to refrain from criticising BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Issuing a stern warning to his party members, he said those who criticised BJP state unit president would have to face action, including expulsion from the party. His warning has come at a time when VCK activists ridiculed Dr Tamilisai for her comments against him and for the alleged attack by BJP members on the VCK workers who showed black flags to the BJP leader.

“VCK members should maintain discipline. Anyone found violating it by criticising Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will be expelled from the party”, he said. He later expressed his party’s resolve to stage an agitation condemning the BJP on November 3.

“My remarks relating to the movie Mersal were only on political lines and I even raised a question as to whether BJP was trying to exert pressure on actor Vijay to turn him towards BJP”, he said. He claimed that “political decency” demanded that the BJP state president respond to his charge with the same political decency.

Thirumavalavan alleged that the BJP cadre had unleashed violence on VCK cadre, a charge which the BJP had denied and contended that it was the other way round.
