Chennai: Three newly elected MLAs were on Tuesday sworn in by Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal. The three MLAs belonging to AIADMK won the the November 19 elections to Aravakurichi, Thanjavur and Thiruparankundram.
V. Senthil Balaji, M. Rengasamy and A. K. Bose were sworn-in as MLAs at the Speaker's chamber in the presence of Finance Minister O. Pannerselvam and his senior cabinet colleagues.
While Balaji and Rengasamy won Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies, where elections were cancelled in May due to large-scale allegations, Bose emerged victorious from Thiruparankundram where by-elections were held on November 19. The by-election was necessitated due to the death of MLA-elect S. M. Seenivel, who died before he was sworn in as MLA in May 2016.
