KCR mismanaging projects, economy, says Rahul Gandhi
Mr Rahul Gandhi said the state which had a surplus Budget now has a debt of Rs 2.5 lakh crore.
WARANGAL: AICC chief Rahul Gandhi accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of redesigning of projects and pushing up their cost and mismanaging the economy.
The Pranahita project initiated by the Congress government at Rs 50,000 crore had been renamed Kaleshwaram and its estimated cost had been increased to Rs 90,000 crore.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhupalpalli on Thursday, he alleged that Mr Rao’s family and his contractor friends had benefited from this and pocketed thousands of crores.
Mr Rahul Gandhi said the state which had a surplus Budget now has a debt of Rs 2.5 lakh crore, which would burden all families in the state. “On the one side, the people of the state are being burdened with debt and on the other the children of KCR have increased their assets four times,” he said.
He said the TRS government had done very little for the farmers. He said if the Congress was voted back to power, farmers would get Rs 2 lakh loan waiver at one go and minimum support price would be provided to 17 types of crops.
Assuring the unemployed that jobs would be provided, he said Mr Rao had failed to fulfill his promise of giving one lakh jobs. “Our Chief Minister would work 18 hours a day to see that the unemployed youth in the state find a livelihood,” he stated.
Mr Rahul Gandhi also said the Congress would complete all schemes left incomplete by the TRS government.
