Warangal: For the past few days, there have been incidents of clashes between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS over protocol issues in the Jangaon district.

One such incident took place on Saturday at a review meeting held by endowments minister Konda Surekha on Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Kalyana Mahotsavam to be held on January 7 at Komuravelli in Cherial mandal.

Jangaon BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and DCC president Kommuri Prathap Reddy, who lost the recent Assembly elections, also attended the meeting.

When the minister called Prathap Reddy onto the dais, MLA Rajeswhar Reddy objected and questioned her how she would call him onto the stage ignoring the MLA by violating the protocol.

This led to a heated argument between the Congress and the BRS leaders present there. Later, the MLA left the venue without participating in the meeting, alleging that the Congress government was insulting BRS MLAs and
public representatives and intentionally violating the protocol.

A few days ago, the MLA faulted the officials for inviting him to one out of two programmes held for the distribution of Christmas gifts and ignoring him for the other one which was attended by DCC chief Prathap Reddy.

The MLA warned that he would complain to the President of India, Assembly Speaker and Chief Secretary if the officials repeated violation of protocol rules.
