Kakinada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is paying attention to Kakinada to attract people towards the party by highlighting the problems in the port city and deciding to address them.

As a part of it, environmentalist and Jana Sena leader Bolisetty Satyanarayana has stayed in the city for the past three days and is holding discussions with prominent people in the city and also neighbouring constituency leaders.

In the process, Bolisetty Satyanarayana took up a major issue, developed in the Pedda Market Centre (Big Market). The market has been running there for the past 93 years;. But the traders alleged that the Kakinada Municipal Corporation issued notices to them to vacate the place as the market building would be demolished under the pretext of an old building.

On Saturday, Satyanarayana, along with the social activist and Kapunadu chief adviser D.N. Ramesh, went to the market and addressed the traders.

Satyanarayana promised them that he would do justice to them and demanded the KMC officials not vacate the place as there is no problem with the structure.

He also said that if any damage occurred, the YSRC leaders should take  responsibility, as they are hatching a conspiracy to demolish the building using the wrong methods. He made it clear that if Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy was threatening the traders, the traders need not be afraid of such a threat. He said that the problems of the market and others would be looked after by D.N. Ramesh.

Satyanarayana and Ramesh visited Aratlakatta reservoir, where the soil was dug and sold previously. Aratlakatta reservoir is the main source of drinking water.

The locals said that the reservoir had not been cleaned properly after digging the soil, and the water is polluted. The water is filtered at Kakinada and supplied to the people of the city. Satyanarayana said that he would not spare anybody if they destroyed mangroves or any other environment and also damaged the livelihood conditions of fishermen.

He said that he would also protect the ancient monuments without giving them a chance to be damaged by some individuals for their selfish interests.
