Koppal: Charged with illegal mining  and  now out on bail, former minister, Gali Janardhan Reddy, who is reportedly hoping for a second innings in the BJP, was on Monday all praise for its  state president, B.S. Yeddyurappa, asserting that he would become CM again post the 2018 assembly elections.

“People of Karnataka are disappointed with the bad governance of CM Siddaramaiah and will teach the ruling Congress a lesson in 2018,” he declared, speaking to reporters at Anegundi in Gangavati taluk, Koppal district.

The mining baron  turned politician ,who has been doing the rounds of religious centres of late, is  in Anegundi (believed to be the mythological Kishkinda) village to offer prayers at a Hanuman temple in the Anjanadri Hill with his confidante and Ballari MP, B Sriramulu. Barred from visiting his home district of Ballari by the Supreme Court,  Mr  Reddy has  been meeting his supporters at Anegundi, which is in neighbouring Koppal district.

Commending the Bharatiya Janata Party’s central leadership for taking “an appropriate decision” in appointing Mr Yeddyurappa as the president of the party's state unit, he said that he was capable of leading it back  to power in 2018. Mr Sriramulu said he had prayed to Lord Hanuman to protect his mentor Reddy from difficulties.

“We have both taken ‘Hanuma deeksha’ and will end it on Hanuma Jayanti on Tuesday,” he disclosed. Having visited  Sabarimalai in Kerala last week, the two men are reportedly planning a pilgrimage to north India before plunging into active politics again.
