TRS neglected Hyderabad on all fronts for 4 years, says BJP
Let alone making Dallas, they have further worsened the conditions in Hyderabad during the past four years.
Hyderabad: BJP MLC N. Ramachandra Rao on Monday came down heavily on the TRS government for neglecting the city on all fronts in the past four years despite the city providing a major chunk of revenue earnings to the state government.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rao said the city’s development under the TRS rule was visible only in “computer graphics” released by CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao and municipal minister K.T. Rama Rao quite often but nothing happened in reality.
“We still stand by our recent statement that city’s development under TRS rule is visible only in computer graphics but not in reality. Instead of addressing the issues raised by us, the city TRS MLAs and MLCs have resorted to mudslinging on BJP. The TRS leaders make tall claims and announce big schemes for city's development every now and then. But the works will not move even an inch forward later. The state government releases no funds for GHMC which is already bankrupt. We demand TRS government to explain how it plans to implement grandiose schemes like SRDP, Musi River Front etc without funds,” Mr Rao added.
Referring to CM’s earlier statements that he would transform Hyderabad into Dallas within 100 days, he said, “All roads are filled with potholes and many have been dug up indiscriminately to lay pipelines and left unrepaired for months. Sewerage is overflowing on roads and in colonies, making life miserable for commuters and residents. Drinking water supplied is polluted. Let alone making Dallas, they have further worsened the conditions in Hyderabad during the past four years.”
He also questioned why the government was not extending Metro Rail to Old City. “Is it not part of Hyderabad?”he asked.
