VISHAKHAPATNAM: Left parties have expressed strong disapproval of the recent remarks made by BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari during her visit to Vizag. During a press conference, Purandeswari stated that whatever is beneficial for employees will be done to RINL (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited). However, the Left leaders believe that her statements are actually supporting the privatisation of VSP.

To voice their protest, a demonstration was jointly organised by CPM, CPI, CPI(ML), and other Left parties at the GVMC Gandhi statue in Visakhapatnam. The Left parties have been actively raising concerns on various issues, such as the protection of Visakha Steel Plant, the establishment of a railway zone, unfulfilled bifurcation promises, safeguarding government lands, the struggle of Adani vs Gangavaram port workers, and the Centre's inadequate fund allocation to Andhra Pradesh.

CPM district secretary Dr. B. Ganga Rao urged Purandeswari, the newly elected AP state president of the BJP, to stop engaging in hypocritical word games and spreading falsehoods. Instead, she should stand up for the protection of RINL, he stated.

CPI district secretary M. Paidirajulu demanded the immediate construction of the Visakha Railway Zone and the release of necessary funds for both the Visakha Railway Zone and the Visakha Metro Rail and Tribal University. He also called for the fulfillment of the promised Budhelkhand-style package for the backward districts of North Andhra by the BJP. Furthermore, other leaders accused the BJP government of colluding with Adani, resulting in significant disruptions in the supply of raw materials to the steel plant. They firmly demanded the immediate removal of Adani from the management of Gangavaram port.
