KAKINADA: Former Rajamahendravaram MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar on Sunday advised ruling YSR Congress members of Parliament to use the impending non-confidence motion for highlighting unresolved issues of AP related to bifurcation.

Speaking to the media at Rajamahendravaram, he advised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy not to yield to BJP’s pressures and instruct his MPs to speak on all issues concerning the state. “Any issue can be raised without any restriction while speaking on the no-confidence motion,” he underlined. The motion has been moved by the opposition INDIA group, in particular on the Manipur issue.

Aruna Kumar pointed out that the union government has not fully paid the revenue deficit, no special package has been extended to north Andhra and Rayalaseema, and the partition of properties belonging to united Andhra Pradesh between Telangana and truncated AP has not been carried out.

The former MP maintained that either Prime Minister Narendra Modi or his cabinet ministers will have to compulsorily provide replies on the issues raised. He underlined that the union government is doing injustice to AP and the state’s MPs should strive hard to get from the centre what is due to Andhra Pradesh.

Aruna Kumar observed that the country is witnessing a vicious religious campaign, which is the most dangerous for the country. He felt the Muslims are in dire straits without proper livelihood.

The former MP asked Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation to protect the environment of city. He said closure of two lakes previously in the city is leading to inundation of many low-lying areas like Aryapuram, Tummalova and Seethampeta, where even drainage water is entering the houses. He said such a situation should be avoided in the future.
