Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palainiswami should have allotted his portfolios before leaving on his two-week foreign tour to his deputy in his absence, the TNCC president K S Azhagiri said on Friday.

Observing that it would be happy augury if Mr. Palaniswami was indeed able to bring in fresh direct foreign investments into Tamil Nadu as a result of his trip abroad, Azhagiri said the government should come out a with a 'White Paper' on the status of the MoUs' signed during the two global investors meet (GIM) held in Chennai in 2016 and 2019 respectively.

Mr. Azhagiri reiterated the senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister, Mr. P Chidambaram has been arrested by the CBI due to political vendetta.

On the Assembly bye-election due from Nanguneri constituency, Azhagiri said there were reports that the Election Commission could hold it by end of next month.
