Hyderabad: Union minister and state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy said that IT minister K.T. Rama Rao who was now talking about revamping the TSPSC was daydreaming about coming back to power and occupying the Chief Minister’s chair.

Addressing the media here on Monday, he said, “KCR and family will be restricted to his farmhouse after elections. If they were keen on stemming the TSPSC rot, they would have plugged the leaks and loopholes and filled the vacant posts. They should explain their failure to do so before seeking votes.”

They are talking about TSPSC now sensing the dissatisfaction of the youth who are questioning them in the campaign. The failure to give jobs has caused mental stress to 30 lakh unemployed youth, he said. Rama Rao will not understand the angst of the youth, Reddy said.

Despite attempts to deflect attention from the suicide of M. Pravalika, a job-seeker, the government’s incapacity was visible. Another student, Rehmat, took the extreme step in Metpally recently. But it was not allowed to come to light.

He said, “We had stood by the youth during the statehood struggle. Telangana has the highest unemployment rate at 16 per cent. Not one Group-1 post has been filled. Nearly 23,978 teacher posts are vacant. The fee reimbursement dues to various colleges stand at Rs 4,500 crore.”

The education sector has been pushed into a crisis and many departments have been closed. The government should release a white paper on this. The unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016, which was promised in 2018, did not materialize. The new BRS manifesto has steered clear from this, which is in line with its habit of cheating students.

The central election committee of the BJP will meet on Wednesday to decide on candidates in the second list, he said.

On dissenting voices being heard in the party office, he said, “Tickets were given after discussions with leaders. The party manifesto will be released soon. The consultation process is on with traders, students, and various other stakeholders.”
