Hyderabad: BJP leader Etala Rajendar asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to disclose when the state government would release the pending four dearness allowance (DA) installments to employees and Rs 1.6 lakh unemployment allowance with retrospective effect as was promised by him.

Addressing a press conference in Khammam, Rajendar said the government must release the pending Pay Revision Commission dues to employees and ensure that private hospitals accept the Employee Health Scheme cards. He also asked the government to release Rs 7,500 crore fee reimbursement dues for engineering and other professional colleges for the years 2020-21, 2022-2023, and 2023-24.

The management was not in a position to run the colleges without the fee reimbursement, Rajendar said while campaigning at Kodad for party candidate G. Premender Reddy for the Legislative Council graduates constituency bypoll. MP B.B. Patil, former MLC Janardhan Reddy, former MLA Saidi Reddy, and other BJP leaders took part in the meeting.

He alleged that the state government was not releasing the salaries for the employees of Telangana Diagnostics for six months. He also demanded that the Revanth Reddy government fill up teaching and non-teaching vacancies in universities, many of which were running with the skeleton staff.

Rajendra said that the voters felt deceived after the Congress government did not fulfill any of its Assembly poll promises and had voted for the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. The BJP would win 12 Lok Sabha seats as was stated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajendar said. Among the achievements of the Narendra Modi government, he listed resolution of the Kashmir issue, bringing back students from the Russia-Ukraine war zone, construction of 12 crore toilets for the poor, doubling the length of national highways, and increasing the number of airports from 76 to 153 and AIIMS from three to 16.
