The YSRC said the Election Commission has only released the video clip of Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, despite there being seven to eight incidents of EVMs being damaged in the Palnadu region.

Vijayawada: Sitting MLA and YSRC Gurazala Assembly candidate Kasu Mahesh Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the Election Commission India (ECI) release videos of all incidents related to damage of EVMs in Palnadu region.

Mahesh Reddy warned that in case the ECI does not do so, they will knock the doors of courts, so that action could be taken against Telugu Desam Party members responsible for the damage of EVMs.

Addressing media on Wednesday, the MLA said the Election Commission has only released the video clip of Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, despite there being seven to eight incidents of EVMs being damaged in the Palnadu region.

Referring to the Palavai Gate booth incident, Mahesh Reddy said TDP leaders pulled out the YSRC agent from the booth and inhumanly beat him up, before rigging votes. Ramakrishna Reddy came to the booth when he came to know about the incident.

The MLA underlined that similar rigging had taken place at Veldurthi, Chintapalli, Vepakampalli and Rompicharla, where TD leaders attacked YSRC agents and forcibly sent them out from polling booths.

He charged that though YSRC has lodged complaints with the ECI, no action has been taken. Further, though CCTV and web cameras have been installed in all polling booths, only one video clip has been released, which is biased.

Kasu Mahesh Reddy said this reveals that the Election Commission has failed to hold the elections in the region in a fair and free manner.
