Deadline for Free Aadhaar Card Update Extended

Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has extended the deadline for the free update of the Aadhaar Card. The original deadline to update the Aadhaar card for free was June 14, 2024, which has been changed to September 14, 2024.
Due to the extension of the deadline, people will have additional time to check and update their biometric and demographic information.
The online Aadhar card update via myAadhaar portal remains free of cost while the offline updates will cost 50 Rs.
Up until September 14, updates of name, address, photo, and any other important information can be done on the UIDAI website for free. The deadlines that have been extended previously are December 15, 2023, March 14, 2024, and June 14, 2024. This is the most recent extension in the series.
Update the Aadhaar card for free in Nine simple steps:
Step 1: Log in to my Aadhar using the 16-digit Aadhaar number.
Step 2: Enter the Captcha.
Step 3: Click on the 'Login using OTP.'
Step 4: Enter the OTP code that you will receive on your linked mobile number. Then, you can access the Portal.
Step 5: Select the 'Document Update.' The existing information about the person will be displayed.
Step 6: Choose the proof of Identity.
Step 7: Address the documents.
Step 8: Upload the required proof.
Step 9: After a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) has been generated, the update request will be approved.
