Telangana: Remove Illegal Constructions or Face Action, Says Komatireddy
Nalgonda: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday directed officials to demolish illegal construction on government lands and those taken up without permissions from the authorities.
Laying the foundation stone for a municipal council hall, he said municipal officials were not taking action against illegal constructions in Nalgonda municipality even after his instructions.
He said that he would be travelling to the US and return to Nalgonda on August 11. If illegal constructions were not demolished by then, action would be taken against the municipal officials concerned, Venkat Reddy warned.
He also asked officials to clean waste from drainage canals to ensure the free flow of water during the monsoon. Desilting of drainage lines should be taken up to avoid overflow of floodwater during rain, he added.
Earlier, Venkat Reddy released water to feeder canal D-37 of the A. Madhava Reddy Project (AMRP) at Gundlapally in Nalgonda mandal. Water release would be increased in five days to fill irrigation tanks in Nalgonda, Miryalaguda and Nakrekal Assembly constituencies in the district.
