Vijayawada: Helpline to Report Social Media Abuse

Vijayawada: Bapatla district SP Vakul Jindal has asked people to call 83338 13228 helpline to report any offensive posts on social media.

He said the district police’s IT department is staffed with experienced personnel for monitoring online activities and preventing provocative content.

Jindal reiterated that group administrators on platforms, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and Instagram, will be held fully responsible for any provocative content shared within their groups.

He asked group admins to remain vigilant and promptly delete any objectionable posts, apart from notifying police authorities about them.

In particular, the SP issued a stern warning against posting any hate messages or photos on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
